Phillipsburg, Warren County, July 8, 2025 – Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen today announced that it received a $10,000 grant from the Hackettstown Medical Center Community Advisory Board, to support Warren County Addiction Services, a program designed to provide addiction and co-occurring mental health and addiction services to individuals in Warren County who are uninsured, underinsured, or who cannot otherwise afford treatment. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen hopes to address the substance use treatment needs of the community by preventing individuals from dropping out of treatment due to an inability to pay for services.
Julio Coto, Executive Director for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, said, “We are incredibly grateful for this grant, which will significantly expand the capacity to provide evidence-based addiction treatment and recovery support services to individuals in our community.”

Hackettstown Medical Center Community Advisory Board, a group of individuals from throughout the communities served by the hospital, the hospital’s Community Health Advisory Committee and the Hackettstown Medical Center Community Health Department, working with the Atlantic Health System Planning Department, identified priority health needs within the community, using robust data analysis and a community stakeholder survey.
The Community Advisory Board awarded grants to 14 recipient organizations who proposed initiatives that address one or more priority health needs in the 2025 grant period.
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen was incorporated in 1982 and has provided services in Warren County for over 40 years. The Warren County Addiction Program is located in Phillipsburg, NJ and offers outpatient substance use and co-occurring counseling to individuals impacted by substance use and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health needs. Services include comprehensive substance use assessments, individual, group, and/or family therapy, recovery support, and relapse prevention. In addition, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen has an active affiliation agreement with the Warren County Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center and works with the Phillipsburg School District, School Based Youth Services Program to provide substance use evaluations to youth who have been referred by the district.
