During Mental Illness Awareness Week, a dedicated time to spotlight the profound impact of mental health on individuals and communities, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, one of the largest nonprofit social service providers in New Jersey, offers hope and unwavering support for those in need.

The Catholic Charities Youth Partial Care program and Mobile Family Success Center spent World Suicide Prevention Day hosting a booth at Brady’s Walk in Old Bridge, NJ.

At the end of each week in YPC, one program participant is awarded Shining Star of the Week in recognition of all the hard work they have been putting into their treatment.

This program transports children daily and the need to be skilled in both areas is very important. Visitation is a vital service in all four counties of our Diocese and it affords families to visit in a safe environment while working with the Department of Child Protection.

Recently, NJSACC: New Jersey’s School Age and Out of School Time Professional Network celebrated their 30th anniversary at the annual statewide afterschool conference in Princeton. The celebration was a highlight of the years the organization has made an impact on afterschool and out of school time in New Jersey. The organization supports child care providers and after school programs throughout the state as one of 50 state wide affiliate networks.

Community House at St. Thomas can accommodate eight mentally competent adults with physical disabilities who find themselves needing affordable, accessible housing. Community House addresses both of those concerns. It is ADA compliant and monthly rent is income based.

May 19th was a warm and sunny day in East Brunswick and the PACT Program Team Leaders and staff members were getting ready for the PACT Olympics. Held at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen’s Family Center in East Brunswick, the annual Olympic event was set to be an exciting one with some friendly competition and socialization with PACT participants.

On Saturday, April 24th, YES ELC @ St. Ladislaus representing Catholic Charities Diocese of Metuchen had the opportunity to participate as a partner at “Celebrate Our Children” Celebration Event. It was a community-based health, wellness and family fun event that brought together residents and community resource providers to expand access to healthcare and enable self-advocacy in ways that advance public health outcomes and quality of life.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, the Catholic Charities Middlesex PACT Program participated in the JBJ Soul Kitchen’s Day of Hope Community Walk along with many other for profit and not for profit agencies.

SOMERVILLE – Unlike many of its peer Catholic secondary educational institutions, Immaculata High School does not require its students to meet a defined number of service hours in order to graduate. Yet they still volunteer, and in droves.

Vanessa was a founding member of the Feeding New Brunswick Network. Vanessa's Food Pantry at Emanuel Lutheran Church was named in honor of her dedication to her service in feeding the hungry.
